ABOUT
Hi, I'm David, a UX designer who got here the long way.
I'm a UX product designer based in Mesa, AZ, and an MS UX student at ASU's Fulton Schools of Engineering, graduating Spring 2027. I came to this discipline the long way around.
I started in fine art: photography, 3D modeling, and video production. They taught me to look closely and build a frame around someone's attention. But the question that pulled me into UX was a harder one: how do you know something actually works for the people who use it? That is not a matter of taste. It is a matter of evidence, you research it, you test it, you watch real people use it. Design, done well, is more a science than an art.
That question pushed me into marketing and social media design: a way to reach an audience instead of waiting for one to find me. But the audience that mattered most to me was still bigger than what marketing could reach. I figured out, somewhere along the way, that the discipline that touches the most lives is the one shaping the products people open every day. So I went back to school for UX.
Off the clock, I 3D-print things I don't need, lose evenings to video games, and share a desk with a cat who has very firm opinions about which chair is hers.
MY VALUES
What matters to me.
๐ฏDesign should reach people.
And whether it reaches them is measured, not guessed.
๐งญStay curious.
Three pivots got me here: fine art, marketing, UX.
๐Pay attention.
Good design starts with looking closely.
๐คTools are tools.
None of them are the work.
Thanks for stopping by. Let's chat.
Whether you want to talk about a role, a project, or a cat, I'd love to hear from you.
